Campania has been known since ancient times as Terra Felix, fertile soil, and the relationship between our region and wine is very ancient. Falanghina, Piedirosso, Aglianico, Fiano, Greco, Biancolella, Coda di Volpe and Asprinio are just some of the more than 100 varieties of vine present in Campania and, therefore, represent only a part of the Campania wines known in the world and that you can appreciate during our WINE TASTING IN THE WINERY.
For our WINE TASTING IN THE WINERY we have chosen two different companies for you. Both handed down from generation to generation and now led by the youngest of the family, but one in the Campi Flegrei area, a few kilometers from Naples and the other on the slopes of Vesuvius, perfect after a visit to the archaeological area of Pompeii o Herculaneum. We chose Campi Flegrei for one of our WINE TASTINGS IN THE WINERY because the Campi Flegrei offer unique naturalistic, historical and archaeological scenarios. Between sea and hills, between volcanoes and thermal springs, the “Campi Flegrei” – from the 17th to the 19th century – were the destination of the “Grand Tour”, attracting visitors from all over Europe. Goethe, among them.
Here the WINE TASTING IN THE WINERY includes a guided tour of the winery, with the explanation of the winemaking processes and then the departure for the vineyards, with the explanation of all the phases of the vine cycle by the company’s technical staff. The WINE TASTING IN THE WINERY includes the tasting of 3 or more wines accompanied by various types of dishes depending on the type of tour purchased.
We find this same method of participation – that is, cellar, vineyard and tasting – also in the WINE TASTING IN THE WINERY organized in the winery at the foot of Vesuvius. In the heart of the Vesuvius National Park, the chosen company has 35 hectares of vineyards and produces – among others – the legendary Lacryma Christi. In this WINERY TASTING you can understand how the volcanic soil influences the wines of this land and have lunch on a terrace overlooking the Sorrento peninsula, Capri, Pompeii and Vesuvius.
